The ultimate goal of this training is to reduce health burden associated with occupational lung diseases and associated comorbidities. The course is focused on building health care workers (HCWs) capacity in the detection and management of tuberculosis among patients with occupational lung diseases and namely silicosis.
The purpose of the course is to build the capacity of health care workers in the prevention, detection, and management of concomitant silicosis and tuberculosis among miners and other groups which for some reason experience dust exposure thus are at high risk of developing tuberculosis.
